Meet Dr. Roberts

James A. Roberts, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist at The Eye Institute of West Florida, serving patients in Tampa and Pinellas County. Dr. Roberts practices general ophthalmology.

Dr. Roberts was raised in St. Petersburg and attended the University of Florida where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. In 1984, Dr. Roberts earned his medical degree from East Tennessee State University. After his internship and Ophthalmology residency in Tennessee, Dr. Roberts moved back to Pinellas County.

Before joining The Eye Institute of West Florida, Dr. Roberts spent 31 years practicing ophthalmology for a large primary and specialty care medical group in Pinellas. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors and his rescue greyhound.
